Passions of Paradise
We thoroughly enjoyed our day on Passions of Paradise which operates daily from Cairns to Michaelmas Cay and Paradise Reef, departing at 8am and arriving back at around 5pm.
A stylish, fast and modern catamaran, taking you to the best reefs, friendly knowledgeable crew, and air conditioned cabin. A dedicated snorkelling instructor provides FREE tuition for those who want to learn to snorkel.
A tropical buffet lunch of hot and cold dishes, prepared on the boat including prawns and fresh tropical fruit is included in the price. All equipment is provided as well.
Billy Tea Safaris
Billy Tea Safaris operate personalised and small group 4WD day tours to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation rainforest.
The tour includes a river cruise, rainforest walks, Cape Tribulation Beach, freshwater swim, traditional Australian BBQ lunch being cooked while you hand-feed the Kangaroos.
Morning tea is provided and an afternoon tea of Australian Tropical fruit. We were amazed at the in-depth knowledge of the tour guide to make this a very informative and relaxed day.
Kuranda Skyrail/Skytrain Experience
This is a must do experience. You will be collected from your accommodation and taken to the Freshwater Station where you board the Skytrain. Once aboard the train, relax and enjoy the spectacular views as you journey through 15 hand cut tunnels and past spectacular waterfalls to Kuranda.
Following this you have free time to do some of your own exploring and wander through the local markets.
Returning on the Skyrail, you will glide silently of the world's most beautiful rainforest. There are two stations enroute where you can alight and take a short walk through the rainforest to spectacular lookouts and views.
At the bottom the bus will be waiting to return you to your accommodation.
Hartley's Crocodile Adventures
The best place to get up-close and personal with saltwater crocodiles and local wildlife in Tropical North Queensland. You will see an experienced zookeeper get into the water with a professional and equally experienced crocodile and see how cunning they can be, while doing the famous "death roll".
Take a boat cruise on the lagoon and watch Estuarine Crocodiles that know exactly what the time is, and while they're being hand fed listen to the keeper explain their environmental and evolutionary existence.
Approximately 2100 metres of timber boardwalks and pathways take you through woodlands and rainforest where you can see an assortment of Australian wildlife, beautiful tropical birds, reptiles, insects and other native fauna. There are wildlife presentations including snakes, cassowaries, koalas, crocodiles, quolls and much much more. It is amazing how fast the crocodiles can close their jaws.
